The ideal candidate will specialize in drafting and prosecuting chemical-related patent applications, managing global patent portfolios, and offering expert opinions on freedom-to-operate matters. Strong academic credentials, admission to the Minnesota Bar, or eligibility for admission, along with exceptional communication skills, are prerequisites for this role. Responsibilities:Collaborate with the IP Practice in crafting strategies for patent portfolio development and managementDraft patent applications pertaining to chemical engineeringProsecute patent applications in the field of chemistryOversee global patent portfolios (preferred)Prepare freedom-to-operate opinions (preferred)Engage directly with clients to address intellectual property concernsProvide expert counsel on patent-related issues Requirements:Admission in good standing with the Minnesota Bar or eligibility for admissionBachelor's or advanced degree in chemical engineering (preferred), materials science, chemistry, or equivalent relevant experienceProfound comprehension of chemistry and its associated principlesOutstanding academic track recordComfortable communicating directly with clientsProficient in writing and analysis Education:Bachelor's or advanced degree in chemical engineering, materials science, or chemistry Certifications:Admission to the Minnesota Bar or eligibility for admission Skills:Proficient in drafting chemical-related patent applicationsExperienced in prosecuting chemical-related patent applicationsAbility to manage global patent portfolios (preferred)Capable of preparing opinions concerning freedom-to-operate (preferred)Strong grasp of chemistry and related principlesExceptional writing and analytical skillsComfortable working directly with clients As one of the largest law firms in the U.S. with more than 40 offices, it was founded in 1967.
