Reporting to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney, the candidate will manage a caseload, provide legal counsel, attend hearings, and collaborate with the Criminal Defense Team. Duties:Manage a caseload, including client interaction and collaboration with the Criminal Defense TeamAdvise clients on legal rights and draft legal documents related to their caseAttend pretrial hearings, advising clients on strategies following each hearingManage court appearances, trials, motion drafting, witness interviews, and legal researchAnalyze probable case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedentsEffectively manage workload and prioritize casesProvide legal analysis to determine potential case benefitsGather additional evidence to support client cases or refute prosecution chargesPrepare clients for depositions and gather information from witnesses and expertsHandle complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levelsCollaborate with associates to strategize and support case objectivesBilingual (Spanish) preferredExhibit exceptional interpersonal skills Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolBar admission in California2-5 years of Criminal Defense experience Skills:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and research abilitiesAbility to work independently and within a teamProficiency in legal software and research toolsDemonstrated success in managing complex criminal cases Benefits:The firm offers medical, dental, and vision insurance, an excellent compensation package, paid parking, paid time off, and more.
