Job responsibilities and duties include:Generate technical drawings, BOM, and documentation for projects using PLM and ERP tools.Establish product design expectations, and meet agreed upon design, performance, and goals for projects in collaboration and with guidance from other team members.Work with change management procedures (ECO/ECN).Test products in laboratories to determine performance, qualify control systems, qualify components, and to meet product safety requirements.Support prototype builds and pilot production runs.Resolve field product quality issues using root cause analysis.Support Project Management Process (PMP) design engineering activities.Connect with global cross-functional teams and participate in Competence Teams.Assist with Design For Assembly (DFA) analysis and DFMEA.This position has no direct reports and does not supervise any other personnel. Minimum Requirements:Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, or any related Engineering field of study, plus at least six (6) months of experience in the job offered or in any related position(s) in which the experience was gained. Qualified applicants must also have demonstrable proficiency and knowledge with the following:Heat transfer, and thermal analysis and design, or packaging of lasers and components for optical, telecom or MEMS (microelectromechanical systems) applications.Sheet metal manufacturing techniques.Solidworks.PLM software ARAS and ERP software QAD.Datalogging using LabVIEW.
