The ideal candidate will have experience in navigating complex criminal cases at various levels of jurisdiction and possess exceptional interpersonal skills.Job Duties:Advise clients on their legal rights and responsibilities in criminal mattersDraft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, to support clients' casesAttend pretrial hearings and represent clients during court proceedingsConduct legal research to analyze case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to clients' casesInterview witnesses and gather evidence to build strong defense strategiesPrepare clients for depositions and assist in selecting and preparing expert witnessesManage workload effectively to ensure timely handling of multiple casesCollaborate with fellow associates to strategize and develop case approachesProvide ongoing legal analysis to clients regarding potential case outcomes and benefitsAccrue additional evidence to support clients' cases and challenge the prosecution's chargesRequirements:Minimum 2 years of experience practicing criminal defense lawProven track record of handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levelsStrong teamwork ethic with a willingness to collaborate and support colleaguesBilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferredExceptional interpersonal skills for effective client communication and advocacyEducation and Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolAdmission to the California State Bar or eligibility for admission upon hiringSkills:Legal research and analysisCourtroom litigation and advocacyCase management and workload prioritizationOral and written communicationNegotiation and persuasionAttention to detail and accuracyCultural competency and sensitivity to diverse client needsJob Location: Modesto, CABenefits Offered: The firm provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, competitive compensation, paid parking, paid time off, and more.
