Rochester Midland Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing & Facilities Manager located in Ogden NY. T he Manufacturing & Facilities Manager will function as the in-house expert on any maintenance and/or construction needs for the building and equipment. This position will have the Ogden Facilities team direct reporting to them, and be responsible for managing daily tasks and workload. They will also be expected to provide support to our second manufacturing facility in Aurora Illinois. Must be able to travel if required. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Must always put Safety first Responsible for Site security including fire prevention, sprinklers and foam systems. Take the lead on working with local Fire Marshal during inspections and findings. Responsible for all aspects of our Waste Water Treatment system. Be fluent in reading and understanding all types of CAD drawings. Capable of assembling all project requirements into a proposal for Capital Projects. Responsible for the setup and utilization of the Computerized Maintenance Management System, seeing that all tasks are completed by staff and closed. Manage inventory of spare parts and equipment Ordering parts from various Suppliers, paying invoices weekly. Diagnose & trouble shoot operational, process, mechanical and electrical problems. Provide hands on assistance for electrical repairs or PM’s as needed Coordinate outside Contractor bids, awarding of projects, and execution. EDUCATION/SPECIAL LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION: High school diploma or equivalent Higher education (AAS or higher) preferred Skilled trade certification(s) or equivalent work experience EXPERIENCE: Minimum of seven (7) years previous experience as a maintenance mechanic or technician for a commercial or manufacturing facility Previous boiler, pipe cutting, welding, etc. preferred Chemical process experienced preferred. Minimum (2) years of management experience. SKILLS: Understanding of methods, materials, tools, and equipment to perform repairs & preventative maintenance. Analytical problem solving and diagnostic skills for mechanical and electrical problems Ability to effectively lead a team. Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus Basic computer and email proficiency, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills Electrical certification a plus COMPETENCIES: Effective communication skills to include verbal, nonverbal and listening skills Strong ability to build relationships to include culture building & teamwork Self-motivated Professionalism Drive for results, action oriented while ensuring accountability Trouble shooting, problem solving and technical knowledge & skill Approachable with a favorable positive image Excellent safety standards & awareness Quality & continuous improvement minded Effective, accurate & thorough Resourceful & adaptable Trust, integrity & ability to collaborate Planning & priority setting Project Management WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to both office & manufacturing environments. Occasional extra hours and emergency call-ins could be required. Exposure to noise levels up to 80 decibels. Wearing of proper PPE such as safety glasses/goggles/shield, safety shoes, and hearing protection is required. Working & performing tasks safely from elevated work platforms or ladders. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Crawling, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, and climbing. Must be able to remain on feet for extended periods and be able to lift/carry/move up to 50 lbs.
