Authorization Specialist IIBC Forward is looking for Authorization Specialist II (Remote Work) in Columbus, OH 43219 Position Title: Authorization Specialist II (Remote Work)Mode Of Work: Remote - OHIO (Only Local to OH) Locations: 4249 Easton Way, Easton Way Three, Columbus, OH 43219Anticipated Start Date: 6/11Expected Duration: 6 monthsJob Type: Contract to HireShift: 8:30am-5pm (1-hour lunch)Note: Need Prior MEDICAID Experience.Pay Rate: $20.00/hr on W2Job Description:Position Purpose:Acts as a resource and supports the prior authorization request process to ensure that all authorization requests are addressed properly in the contractual timeline. Supports utilization management team to document authorization requests and obtain accurate and timely documentation for services related to the members healthcare eligibility and access.* Supports the authorization review process by researching and documenting necessary medical information such as history, diagnosis, and prognosis based on the referral to the clinical reviewer for determination* Verifies member insurance coverage and/or service/benefit eligibility via system tools and aligns authorization with the guidelines to ensure a timely adjudication for payment* Performs data entry to maintain and update various authorization requests into utilization management system* Supports and processes authorization requests for services in accordance with the insurance prior authorization list and routes to the appropriate clinical reviewer* Remains up-to-date on healthcare, authorization processes, policies and procedures* Performs other duties as assigned* Complies with all policies and standards* Billing simple single line of service using a template that's created for each step (changes with each member, but with consistent codes)Describe the performance expectations/metrics for this individual and their team:* Billing 3 cases per hour* Follow up on work contacts to provider* 30/35 per dayRequired Skills/Experience:Medicaid experience a MUSTAttention to detailsAbility to navigate multiple systemsEducation/Experience:Requires a High School diploma or GEDRequires 1 - 2 years of related experience.Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance preferred.Aids the utilization management team and maintains ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on authorizations and referrals in accordance with policies and guidelinesSupports the authorization review process by researching and documenting necessary medical information such as history, diagnosis, and prognosis based on the referral to the clinical reviewer for determinationVerifies member insurance coverage and/or service/benefit eligibility via system tools and aligns authorization with the guidelines to ensure a timely adjudication for paymentPerforms data entry to maintain and update various authorization requests into utilization management systemSupports and processes authorization requests for services in accordance with the insurance prior authorization list and routes to the appropriate clinical reviewerRemains up-to-date on healthcare, authorization processes, policies and proceduresPerforms other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standardsBenefits:BCforward offers all eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to major medical, HSA, dental, vision, employer-provided group life, voluntary life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and 401k.About BCforward:Founded in 1998 on the idea that industry leaders needed a professional service, and workforce management expert, to fuel the development and execution of core business and technology strategies, BCforward is a Black-owned firm providing unique solutions supporting value capture and digital product delivery needs for organizations around the world.
