The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology:Oncology is recruiting for a full:time (100 FTE) Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities. Job Overview Under general supervision from a designated administrator, assist in providing comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care to patients in the area of malignant hematology with a primary focus in bone marrow transplant. The individual will provide patient/family education and will be expected to participate in teaching activities for students, residents and fellows. Essential Functions: Conduct comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessment of bone marrow transplant patients.: Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.: Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non:pharmacologic treatment modalities.: Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.: Maintain accurate medical records. : Collaborate with other providers and members of the health care team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.: Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.: Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence:based practice.: Participate in research and development projects.: Participate in education of nurse practitioners, nurse practitioner students and medical students.: Perform related duties based on departmental need. Minimum Requirements For Nurse Practitioner: : Current/valid RN license to practice in the state of Ohio with prescriptive authority prior to start.: A Masters degree in nursing and graduation from an ANA approved Nurse Practitioner Program.: At least three (3) years nursing experience. For Physician Assistant: : Graduation from a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC:PA) or its predecessor agencies.: Certi
