Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll is actively seeking a Registered Nurse for the Special Care Unit (SCU). Qualifications: Registered Nurse, currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario is required. Minimum of 1 year recent critical care nursing experience is required (or completion of SCU internship program) Minimum of 1 year recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience preferred. Current BLS certification is required. Current ACLS certification is required. Completion of a critical care course is preferred. Experience with cardiac monitoring and interpretation, IV insertion, Glucometer testing and BDC medication is required. Excellent Patient backssment, Intervention and Evaluation skills. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated warmth, interest and empathy in interactions with patients. Demonstrated ability to function productively in a very demanding environment. Demonstrated ability to give and receive feedback in an open and constructive manner. Evidence of commitment in self-directed learning as demonstrated by the courses taken. Demonstrated skills in patient teaching. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of the team. Ability to demonstrate a commitment to Privacy and Confidentiality. Excellent attendance record and work ethics in previous positions. Able to work in high stress situations.
