Job DescriptionSenior Accountant needed for large financial firm based out of Michigan. 100% remote in Texas, Florida or Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina or Massachusetts Must haves: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting CPA certification, eligibility or equivalent Strong Excel skills ERP Systems experienceContribute to the advancement of the corporate accounting team by bringing best practices, broad experience, and financial acumen. 4-6 years' experience in general accounting role in a middle-market organization, audit role, or consulting. Broad knowledge of general accounting activities including month-end close; accruals and reserves; prepaids and fixed assets as well as general ledger maintenance activities. Solid experience with bank and account reconciliations as well as financial reporting development and deliverables. Experienced in utilizing NetSuite or similar ERP system. Ability to collaborate and deliver accurate and timely information in a fast-paced remote work environment.Duties and responsibilitiesResponsibilities include:General Accounting: * Maintain general ledgers and other financial records * Perform monthly accruals and journal adjustments as required * Produce timely and accurate reconciliations and financial reporting * Maintain policies and procedures while promoting effective internal controls * Actively participate in and support annual financial audit and various regulatory audits * Partner with other departments/customers/vendors as needed * Actively participate in department process improvement initiatives * Provide support to other departments and accounting management team. Financial Analysis: * Prepare, review, and provide commentary on financial statements and reports * Partner with FP&A to produce financial analysis and models to support business decisions.* Contribute to technical accounting discussions and decision makingExperience/Training* Proven knowledge of accounting / ERP systems; Experience with NetSuite is preferred. * Comfortable with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite. * Functional knowledge of MS Excel software including use of pivots, advanced logic, and lookup formulas. * Familiarity with MS Access or another relational database and concepts * Experience with data imports and exports * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Strong mathematical and analytical skills * Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
