Mac Donald Paving and Construction, a division of Miller Paving Limited is looking for candidates interested in joining a dynamic team to learn and build a career in the field of construction inspection and materials testing. Our ideal candidate will have strong initiative to perform routine inspection and sampling of construction materials both asphalt and aggregate in the field and occasionally laboratory, in order to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications. The Technician will prepare daily reports, data sheets, material sampling, and inspection during the placement of materials; predominately in Asphalt operations. The Technician may be called upon to perform various tasks at the discretion of the supervisor. As a Quality Control Materials Inspector, You Will: Be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment by complying with all safety guidelines Conduct field tests and collect samples to ensure compliance with prevailing standards and procedures Perform Field Quality Control Testing (Field sampling of Aggregate and Asphalt/Concrete) Examine the sample provided and write/advise any discrepancy on test and field reports Ensure that measuring equipment is calibrated Participate in activities related to the quality systems Assist in maintaining the lab, and testing equipment Inspect and direct.
