Position Summary Provides leadership, direct, and indirect supervision of incident response crew members within the assigned zone while performing daily work activities of basic maintenance of contracted assets. As the senior member of the crew, this position will be expected to lead the other crew members, drive performance, and ensure contractual compliance. This individual will be responsible for meeting all traffic or roadway related incident response arrival times, traffic restoration, and supplementary maintenance tasks specified in the company's contract and as directed by the supervisor. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Rapidlyrespondtotrafficrelatedincidentsasrequiredwhendispatchedbytheproject leadership and/or client representatives . Create safeTemporaryTraffic Control(TTC)zonesincludingthe setup andremovaloftraffic control devices such as cones, message and arrow boards, and temporary signs. Assistlawenforcementofficersonmanagingtrafficorroadwayrelated Cleanincidentresponsevehiclesonaweekly Maintaincleanappearanceofhighwaysandmediansincludingremovalanddisposaloflitter and debris , graffiti removal, and painting. . Assist in the maintenance andrepair ofroadwaysandothersurfacesbyfillingpotholes,,installing and replacing reflectors, working with concrete and asphalt. Maintainappearanceandfunctionalityofroadwaysigns,guardrail,fencing, expansion joints, bridge joints,androadway lighting using hand or power tools and other equipment when necessary. Repairandpreservefunctionalityof slopes,berms,culverts,drains,,usinghand or power tools and other equipment when needed. Transportcrewandequipmenttoworksiteswhileoperatinglargetruckorspecializedmotorvehicles and trailers. Mustbeavailabletoworkovertimeduringemergency and/or incidentresponserotations,includingafter hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays. CarryoutalldutiesinlinewithCompanypoliciesandproceduresasamendedfromtimeto Complywithfederal,state,andlocallegal andprocedural Mustbewillingtoperformallothermaintenance,restoration,andrelatedsubsequentduties RequiredtowearPersonalProtectiveEquipment(PPE)appropriatetothe Otherduties(notlisted)maybeassigned tothisjobatany Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Establishedknowledgeofroadwayinfrastructure Basicknowledgeofthestandardmethods,materials,tools,andequipmentusedin concrete, asphalt repair, construction, and maintenance. Abilitytoskillfullyoperateandupkeepsmallhandpowertoolsassociatedwiththe Abilitytorecognizehazardsinherentinroutineandnon-routinetasksandmakeall necessary adjustments to avoid loss, injury, or accident. Abilitytocooperateandcommunicatewrittenandverballywithco-workersand Abilitytoperformbasicmathfunctions(add,subtract,multiply,divide,calculateproportions, percentages,measurements). Abilitytounderstandinstructionsfurnishedinwritten,oral,ordiagram Ability to read, write and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenanceinstructions,andproceduralmanualstocomplywithcontractual Abilitytoworkflexiblehourstoincludeevenings,weekends,andholidaystomeetbusiness Abilitytotakeownershipofworkand Abilitytointeractwiththepublicinaprofessional Highlevelofattentionto Mustpracticesafeworkmethodstoremainaccidentandinjury Education and Experience HighSchoolDiplomaor (Required) Two(2)years' work experiencein infrastructure, maintenance,and (Required) Avaliddriver'slicenseandagooddriving (Required) Commercialdriver'slicense(CDL)Class (Preferred) Three (3) years' driving experience with a "Class A" CDL (truck/trailer combination) with a " manual transmission" endorsement. (Preferred) MustbeabletoobtainTemporaryTrafficControl(TTC) (Incident Control System (ICS) ("ICS 100" course)certificationwithinthree(1)monthsof Mustbeable tocompleteNationalIncidentManagementSystem (NIMS) (through 700 level)trainingwithin(1) month of hire. Must be available to respond to traffic incidents within the allotted timeframe as outlined in the project's contract. Work Conditions/ Physical Demands Work Environment: Exposure to live traffic when responding to roadway/traffic incidents. Frequent exposure to vehicle exhaust fumes or airborne particles.Exposure to moderate to high noise level. Frequent exposure to outdoor conditions such as extreme heat, cold, wet, and humid weather. Frequent exposure to insects, reptiles and rodents. Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, sit, walk on a wide range of surfaces, use hands, fingers, handle, physically feel, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and clearly speak and hear.Ability to lift, up to, 50 pounds unassisted. Ability to use labor-intensive and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment. Vision abilities include both close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Ability to work at elevated places/locations such as working from bucket trucks, scaffolding, ladders, and aerial platforms lifts.Ability to work in confined spaces.
