Experience in engineering, building construction, construction or maintenance of highways, buildings or bridges, fleet vehicle and/or aircraft maintenance and repair or fixed based maintenance and repair operations can substitute on a year:for:year basis for the required college education. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Occasional to moderate travel required. Position may respond to emergencies, including natural disasters or other type incidents requiring travel, as needed. JOB DUTIES: Responsible and accountable for managing budget/dollars/resources (staff, vehicles, computers, cell phones, etc.) of any assigned programs in an efficient and accountable manner. Responsible for ensuring that assigned program areas have operational procedures and processes which result in accountability and compliance with division and department policies and procedures. This administrative position is responsible for the management of all services provided by the Maintenance Section related to support of all facility, communications, and equipment programs in the Chipola Forestry Center. Responsible for coordinating property inventories, conducting audits, and managing federally loaned properties. Additional responsibilities include coordinating the Center's construction and maintenance projects. Monitors work performance of subordinates, including periodic written evaluations and discussions; counseling to develop skills and correct deficiencies; recognizing employee accomplishments; and recommending timely disciplinary actions as needed. Approves timesheets and leave requests. Documents recommendations for special pay increases, reclassifications, and disciplinary actions, when appropriate. Efficiently carries out employee selection actions when vacancies are to be filled. Responsible for state property inventory, federal excess property inventory, and sensitive property inventory for the Chipola Forestry Center. Works with local supervisors to conduct annual inventories and maintains a database of current items with locations. Oversees the disposal / property sales of inventory items. Maintains records of fire department leases and inspections. Responsible for auditing the various business practices of the Chipola Forestry Cent
