Description:
NEEDED: Phlebotomist LOCATION: Old Highway 75, Butner, NC 27509 SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, Sunday through Saturday, including federal holidays. QUALIFICATIONS: Provide documentary evidence of completion of a Phlebotomy training program. Must provide documentary evidence of completion of Phlebotomy certification exam. Provide documentary evidence of experience within the past three (3) years in performing basic Phlebotomy skills on humans. Evidence of CPR certification. JOB DUTIES, (responsible for, but not limited to the following tasks): Provide professional phlebotomy services to inmates. Ordering laboratory studies in the Laboratory Information System, drawing blood samples on ordered studies. Preparing samples for processing. Sharps accountability. Maintaining logs and records. Filling out appropriate laboratory request forms. Preparation of the call out (draw list and labels). Maintenance of a waiting list. Restocking Phlebotomy supplies as needed. Daily maintenance of laboratory equipment, including advising the Laboratory Supervisor when equipment requires professional maintenance or repair. Biological specimen preparation and packaging for shipment to contract laboratories, processing Incoming referral specimens. Processing outgoing specimen containers to referral facilities. Maintenance of laboratory logs and other records as necessary for complying with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) guidelines. Informing the Laboratory Supervisor of all information pertaining to the services rendered, i.e., specimen(s) obtained. Reporting any problems arising regarding laboratory services. Responsible for providing technical and clerical support to the laboratory.
