Medical Assistant at Urgent Care Required Qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent (GED) required.Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required AND on-the-job experience or training OR participation in a registration program conducted by an accredited national health services organization, such as American Medical Technologists, and passing the credentialing exam.Medical Assistant certification preferred.Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred.Passed x-ray operator?s examination or willing to take exam according to individual clinic needs.Occupational Medicine experience preferred. (Only applicable for Occupational Medicine) Key Responsibilities: Manage customer flow throughout the clinic.Assist providers in the management and treatment of customers.Perform clinical and clerical tasks to assist with customer flow.Communicate with the healthcare team regarding progress and concerns.Maintain skill proficiency and upgrade skills as necessary.Schedule and Shift Details: Day/Evening shifts, 60 hours per pay period, Every 3rd Weekend Shift. Travel: Local travel using personal vehicle may be required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks in an efficient manner.Knowledge of and skill in using computer software applications.Travel using personal vehicle to various local worksites is required. (Only applicable for Occupational Medicine) Required Licensure OR Certification: Current BLS Certification.Breath Alcohol Tester Certification (Must obtain certification after hire. Only applicable for Occupational Medicine).Must possess a current driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record. (Only applicable for Occupational Medicine). Preferred Certification: Medical Assistant Certification.Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS).Note: Client does not require CMA, but if a candidate has an MA diploma, they must have at least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
