As the PRN (As Needed) RN, you will work under the direction of the Lead RN with the primary responsibility of completing assigned nursing tasks for the individuals at Mary Lee. This position is flexible, and the schedule may vary depending on the needs of the individuals. Some nursing tasks must be completed onsite, and others may be completed virtually. All Nursing Tasks will be provided in accordance with the individual’s Individual Plan of Care (IPC), Implementation Plan, Program Guidelines, and Texas State Guidelines. Responsibilities: A schedule of availability to work will be provided every month to the Lead RN for assignment purposes. Complete Nursing Tasks as assigned by the Lead RN. All Nursing Tasks must be completed and documented in Taskmaster Pro in a timely manner. Upon completion of Nursing Tasks, a handoff report will be performed to the Lead RN. Role Requirements: Documentation of ALL nursing tasks performed must be entered into EHR within 14 calendar days as stated in state guidelines. The nursing task documentation requirement goal per week for this role is 100%. By signing this job description, you are agreeing to meet this requirement. The HCS billing guidelines will be attached for your reference. PRIOR to working overtime and/or internal/non-nursing time, approval is required in writing from Lead RN. If approved for time for non-nursing tasks, ALL time spent on non-nursing tasks must be documented and turned in for review every payroll. The total sum of nursing task documentation and non-nursing task documentation submitted must equal the amount of hours the employee was ‘clocked in’ for the pay period. Example: Employee worked 80 hours in 2 weeks, 40 hours of Nursing Task Service Delivery Logs were entered for Nursing Tasks, there should be 40 hours of documentation to account for the remainder of non-nursing task time. Attending regularly scheduled meetings in person or via telehealth with the Nursing Team to ensure communication, consistency, and support are present if possible. Communication and professionalism with all coworkers to maintain a positive work environment. Work as a part of a team to provide nursing care to the individuals at Mary Lee. Qualifications: Advanced understanding of basic office applications, including MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Experience in or ability to learn Electronic Health Records Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Aptitude for Problem-solving Ability to travel a reasonable distance as required to ensure quality Excellent critical thinking skills Valid RN License to practice in Texas with at least 2 years of experience Current CPR Certification Experience in the HCS/ICF program working with people with disabilities Must pass Criminal Background Check Must hold Valid Texas Driver’s License and have reliable transportation Physical Requirements: With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and mental requirements of this job may include the following: physical strength, the ability to move around freely, hand dexterity to write or type, and the ability to see, hear, and communicate well. Additional physical requirements may include, frequent lifting, bending down, sitting and/or standing for extended periods, and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
