Learn more at www.janssen.com .Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Experimental work will be the core job function, with 80% of time spent leading from the bench Be highly organized and practice robust experimental techniques including diligent recording of experiments in electronic lab notebooks Work independently to develop cell-based assays to evaluate the effects of target modulation on immune-relevant pathways Communicate effectively in a variety of written and oral formats Help establish a positive site culture and provide informal mentorship to colleagues Qualifications B.S degree in immunology, cell biology, or related fields is required; a master's degree is preferred. For a B.S. degree, five years of additional laboratory experience is required. For M.S. degree holders, two-three years of additional laboratory experience is required. Experience in sophisticated organizations like research institutes or biopharmaceutical companies is preferred. Hands-on experience with cell culture (primary cells and cell lines) and cellular and molecular biology techniques, including but not limited to ELISA, RT-qPCR, immunoblotting, and flow cytometry, is required. The ability to analyze and interpret published data and apply it to develop and optimize cellular and biochemical assays is required. The ability to interpret omics datasets and/or familiarity with R is preferred. Organized, meticulous, and able to work both independently and in team settings is required. A passion for developing new therapies for inflammatory disease is required. This position will be in Cambridge, MA, and may require up to 10% travel.
