Overview: *All positions are located in Fresno/Clovis CA* We are looking for an Extern to join our growing team! In your role as an extern, you will be able to take the first steps into an exciting nursing career all while working alongside a collaborative team that will make your growth a priority! Community Regional Medical Center is the largest of our three main hospitals and the flagship hospital of the Central Valley. This academic-affiliated, Level 1 Trauma Center is located on a 58-acre campus in downtown Fresno. It features one of the largest and busiest emergency departments in California as well as a comprehensive burn center. Our hospital serves 2.5 million people within 9 counties, averaging a daily census of 641 patients. Responsibilities: This is our largest inpatient unit, with 64 monitored beds, caring for moderate to high acuity cardiac patients. In this fast-paced and team-oriented environment, you will encounter a variety of patients, including surgical, step-down, post-procedure and more. Given the advanced techniques and diverse cases you will encounter, you should be a self-motivated team player eager to learn and ready to contribute to the efforts of this close-knit team. Works limited time status under the direction of the RN mentor to provide patient care using defined procedures and standards in accordance with the goals of the unit and the philosophy of Community Medical Centers. This position is eligible for becoming an Extern 2 - Work Study once all criteria has been met. Qualifications: Education --- High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required --- Enrolled in a school of nursing. Completion of first semester in an ADN Nursing Program or second semester in a BSN Nursing Program. Enrolled in the work study program associated with school of nursing attended required Licenses and Certifications --- BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required Disclaimers: --- Pay ranges listed are an estimate and subject to change. --- If any bonuses are noted, they are only applicable to external hires meeting criteria.
