Performing X-ray duties, and providing radiation safety according to the standards and policies of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Receives direction from: Cardiologists, Cath Lab Director/Manager. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Requirements Identify items that are minimally required to perform the essential functions of this position. Preferred or Specialized Not required to perform the essential functions of the position. Education: 2 years Cath lab experience or graduate of a credentialed cardiovascular program. Successful completion of the Cardiovascular Science Exam. Successful completion of the Cardiovascular Invasive Registry Exam. Experience: License(s)/Certification(s): Current CVT or RT(R) Current BLS Certification. Current ACLS Certification Current Active RCIS Registration or Current RT(R) CI ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential Function: Scrub Tech position Setup sterile table with adequate supplies for the scheduled procedure. Proficient at scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and maintaining the sterile field. Prepping and draping appropriate site per protocol. Connect flush, contrast pressure lines, and prepare sterile field according to physician s preference and protocol. Anesthetize the patients designated groin area per physician preference. Conduct procedure according to the patients and physicians needs. Inform other team members of equipment or medication used or needed. Secure sheath or sheaths according to appropriate sheath protocol per patient post procedure. Perform sheath removal and access site closure with (AngioSeal, Mynx devices) and manual pressure. Perform skin closure post PPM/ICD implantation per physician preference. Dispose of sharps in sharps container, remove patient drape, discard of waste per protocol and ensure access site is free of hematoma. Assist with patient transfer and transport as needed. Assist with room turnover. Clean and transport reusable instruments to CPD for re-sterilization. Essential Function: Monitor Tech Position Perform AM Quality Control. Record patient information in X-Per or MacLab Hemodynamic systems Assist with patient and equipment care in preparation of procedure. Properly position patient on the X-Ray table using safety precautions per protocol. Place patient on all monitoring equipment. Cognizant of sterile areas and assists with its maintenance. Assist with prepping and draping. Remains attentive, immediately reports EKG and hemodynamic changes. Records hemodynamic data at various speeds and ranges as specified. Computes all hemodynamic studies as requested, generate reports, and distribute to the physician. Assists with post procedure duties. Assists with transfer and transportation of patients. Assists with room turn over. Essential Function: X-ray duties Follows guidelines and protocol for radiation safety. Adheres to protocol designed to reduce radiation exposure. Additional duties as assigned by the Cath Lab Director/Manager Identifies and utilizes the opportunity for Professional growth and employee development. Assists in the assessment of the department s efficiency by participating in the Quality Improvement process. Assist with the following task as requested: -Review charts for accurate charges. -Compile various statistics on the X-Per and MAC LAB. -Revise policy and procedure manual as requested by Cath Lab Director/Manager -Track meeting minutes. -Assist with inventory control by using the X-Per and MAC LAB management tools program. -Assist with trouble shooting monitoring equipment.
