Job Summary: This job description has been prepared as a guide to ensure better communication, clear expectations and understanding of the role of Program Engineer. All responsibilities have not been included; Engineering Manager may from time to time ask Program Engineers to perform other related duties not specifically included in this description. This description will be reviewed annually by the Department Manager and revised if needed to meet the business needs of ABC Automotive Systems, Inc. Job Responsibilities: Your supervisor may from time to time ask you to perform other related duties not specifically included in this job description. This job's key responsibilities include: Assist with ongoing projects and the maintenance of tools, equipment, and machinery; design and engineer new products Assist with training new employees to work standards and Quality Objectives utilizing team work and positive attitude. Product Launch knowledge and experience. In conjunction with sales staff, provide support and liaison with Customer's Engineering and Design personnel Prepare product and process feasibility studies and all other documentation required to support customer expectations Manage new product tooling programs and supervise tooling try-outs and sample and trial preparation for new processes Knowledge of customer requirements of FEMA, APQP, MSA, & SPC Training will be provided for the following if needed: APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA. Implement Engineering changes Create an environment oriented to trust, open communication and respect Adhere and enforce company policies and procedures Participate in problem resolution, identify quality concerns and communicate with departments with the facility Contribute to a work environment free from harassment, where fairness, equity and non discriminatory practices are standard Adhere to the Quality Policy and Environmental Policy as they relate to ISO 9001: 2015 (QMS) / ISO 14001:2015 (EMS) / IATF 16949 2016 (AQMS) Provide information, instruction and supervision to Employees, to protect health or safety of the Employee. Support completion of reports of accidents / incidents immediately and participate in corrective action process. Support auditing to ensure work instructions are followed. Cooperate, participate and lead corrective actions in conjunction with health and safety committee, continuous improvement team and other departments within facility. Ensure all local, state and federal laws are upheld and followed in relation to safety, environmental, hiring and recruitment and worker safety, as stated by KYOSHA and the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Association. Job Qualifications: 4 year Engineering degree- a must. MUST HAVE EXPERIANCE WITH NEW PROGRAM LAUNCHES 5 or more years engineer experience; preferably plastic and/or automotive background Proficient in reading blue prints Strong in electrical schematics GDNT experience Design package experience a plus Toyota supplier experience a plus Word, excel, and powerpoint skills required Organizational and leadership skills preferred Six Sigma experience a plus. Working Conditions: Physical Environment - Primarily in an office setting, with occasional visits to plants. Working hours and patterns - 8:30-5:00pm unless otherwise required. Workload and Overtime - Workload and overtime will fluctuate from time to time. Occupational stress - Tight deadlines and fluctuating business/customer demands. Others - N/A Environmental, Health and Safety Expectations: Employee Responsibilities: Work in compliance with OH&S acts and regulations. Use personal protective equipment and clothing as directed by the employer. Report workplace hazards and dangers to a supervisor Work in a safe manner as required by the employer and use the prescribed safety equipment. Tell the supervisor or employer about any missing or defective equipment or protective device that may be dangerous. Security and Housekeeping: Ensure visitors and contractors follow the Contractor Management Policies / Site-specific Procedures. All Employees must use the designated employee entrance and exit doors. Under no circumstances can employees prop or cause to remain open any entrance or exit door that could permit entry to the facility for unauthorized individuals. All employees shall ensure the building is always clean and a safe workplace. No food or drink is permitted in the warehouse or production area, unless in a spill proof container. All other food and drink items must remain in the designated break areas. Why ABC?
