We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Compute/Virtualization Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. As a Compute/Virtualization Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the compute and virtualization infrastructure that underpins our organization's IT systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in server architecture, virtualization technologies, and a proactive approach to optimizing and securing computing resources. Responsibilities * Develop & maintain engagements with Infrastructure Engineering, MSP resources, facility support, vendors, and Application teams to provide end-to-end delivery and support of appropriate infrastructure solutions. * Provide level 1/2 operational support for ticket completion, incident management and problem management resolution, on-call activities * Demonstrate a dedication to building and maintaining a stable, high-performance technical environment * Partner with Business & client teams in building/articulating technical requirements and recommendation * Strong customer service skills and unfailing professionalism * Partner closely and collaborate enthusiastically with both clients at the local facilities and peers across O&T * Track timelines, manage priorities and schedules, and set client expectations * Partner with Business Engagement team to capture technical requirements, provide solutions and ensure resources are available to hit required timelines * Collaborate closely with the cyber security team to build repeatable systems with security best practice and hardening * Preferred familiarity with PCI and SOX procedures and controls Requirements * B.S. degree in an Information Technology related technical discipline or 4+ equivalent practical experience * Must be willing to work evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays * Experience for management/build/troubleshooting of virtualization/OS technologies, specifically VMware & Windows & Linux * Experience with OS/HW level monitoring and performance management * Working knowledge on networking protocols, routing, network topology * Manage and implement automated operational tasks to improve reliability and standards * Some scripting experience. Ex: Python, Ansible, Shell, PowerShell, GIT, Tower, and CI/CD methodologies * Familiar with agile methodologies working in JIRA based sprint structures Preferred qualifications * Familiar with Block/File/Object storage technologies * Familiar with backup technologies, recovery scenarios, high availability designs and solutions * Familiar with ServiceNow or other ITSM related toolsets Additional DetailsThe base range for this contract position is $31 - $41/per hour, depending on experience.Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations.
