The Consultant (Consultant II) provides participation as a member of our Resilience and Recovery team to conduct various job tasks supporting our government services, disaster recovery, and building sciences groups. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to write reports, collect sound data, and remain flexible and adaptable to changing environments. The Consultant II in the Resilience and Recovery team may be asked to help with industrial hygiene field data collection, interact with clients and support the development of project scopes, carry out tasks related to a government services contract, and a variety of other related duties. An individual in this position will handle a variety of front-line responsibilities, but they should be able to approach each one with an awareness of its significance and the capacity to convey that understanding to clients. Job Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $43,000-$65,200 (commensurate with experience)ACTIVITES/TASKS/SCOPE * Immediate availability for extended travel and emergency response at client's request. * Gather and analyze samples from various sources of potential contamination. * Compile, review and summarize scientific/technical data and literature. * Ensures efficient communication among project stakeholders. * Writes reports, conducts analysis, and prepares/conducts briefings. * Writes, reviews, and/or otherwise contributes to the generation of proposals. * Assists with the development and provision of training to support the recovery process. * Effectively communicates (written and orally) with team members and local, state, and federal clients and stakeholders. * Solid written, verbal, and organizational skills. * Able to remain flexible and adapt quickly to changes during each assignment. * Ability to develop strong partnerships and influence people. * Desire to learn and grow in the field of disaster recovery and resilience. * Ability to contribute to a team of innovative thinkers who provide solutions to client's complex issues. * Perform such other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES * Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information related to building and industrial hygiene to clients and team members. * Business Acumen: Strong business development skills, with the ability to identify and pursue opportunities to grow relationships with restoration firms, adjusters, and policyholders. * Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions in a timely manner. * Ability to obtain DISA clearance. * Ability to obtain TWIC clearance.KEY COMPETENCIES * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a matrix reporting structure. * Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. * Ability to respond in a timely manner to all communications. * Ability to understand and follow written and verbal directions. * Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language. * Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license. * Ability to obtain a passport.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & CREDENTIALS * Bachelor's Degree from an accredited or equivalent work experience. * 1-4 years of relevant work experience (in similar field and/or industry). * Familiarity with city, state and federal procurement through various funding streams including but not limited to IIJA, IRA, CDBG, and FEMA is desired. * Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, and software programs. * Solid skills in the areas of math, budgeting, and financial analysis, as well as excellent teamwork, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
