Description Specialization: Cardiothoracic Surgery Job Summary: Ocala Health is a seeking an experienced cardiac physician assistant to join an established cardiothoracic surgery practice. Qualified Candidates: Prior cardiac experience required Proficient in vein harvesting (EVH and open) required Join two cardiothoracic surgeons and 2 Advanced Practice Providers 80% of time spent in hospital / 20% in clinic Hospital work focused on inpatient rounding, consults, discharges, some ICU & surgery First assist in procedures Share call with Advanced Practice Providers Must be NCCPA board certified Practice specializes in the latest minimally invasive cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgical techniques (mitral valve repair, thoracic aortic aneurysm repair, TAVR) Incentive/Benefits Package: This is an employed opportunity through HCA Physician Services Group which offers: Competitive compensation Great comprehensive and flexible benefits program PTO and CME time / allowance Occurrence-based malpractice Strong support system About HCA Florida Ocala Hospital​: 3-Star STS CABG program 545-bed Hospital with two campuses, CVT program housed at Ocala Campus (HCA Florida Ocala Hospital: 323-beds, HCA Florida West Marion Hospital, A part of HCA Florida Ocala Hospital: 222-beds) and 5 freestanding EDs The region’s only ACS recognized Level I Trauma Center and DNV certified Comprehensive Stroke Center Consistent growth and impressive investment in capital improvements for several years Growing graduate medical education (GME) with 160 residents partnering with University of Central Florida (UCF) to train the next generation of physicians.
