OBJECTIVE The Sales Associate is responsible for engaging with customers on a routine basis in order to provide the highest level of customer service. Maintenance of merchandise as well as the knowledge of products and locations is key in optimizing the shopping experience of the customer. Strong Knowledge of Tree's/Shrubs and or Herbs and Veggies, or past employment experience in these areas is HIGHLY PREFERRED! · Engage with customers by greeting, acknowledging, and offering product recommendations based on strong product and property knowledge· Communicate with team members based on customer inquiries in order to provide outstanding customer service· Assist with the movement of inventory through restocking, floor moves, and display maintenance· Perform other general maintenance tasks including housekeeping and product maintenance· Maintain knowledge of company policies and procedures when pricing merchandise· Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required. COMPETENCIES · Customer Focus· Communication· Reliable· Ability / Initiative to Learn PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Work or personal experience in the retail, horticultural, or gardening fields preferred. A demonstrated ability to offer excellent customer service skills, and strong verbal communication skills. WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in an active retail store environment. This job may be either indoors or outdoors or both. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.This position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and / or crawling. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK Flexible hours. Days and hours of work vary by schedule and season. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
