Major Duties Set up and operate a variety of machines including but not limited to manual lathes, manual mills, and manual grinders, to make, modify, or repair parts or products to precise dimensions Specific Responsibilities Interprets specifications and drawings or sample parts and plans sequence of operations. Machines to dimensions and tolerances and prepares working sketches from general descriptions and by examining parts and their mating surfaces. Measures, marks and scribes center lines, dimensions, and reference points on work piece, using measuring and marking instruments, to lay out work piece for machining. Fixtures work piece in machine by securing it onto manually or using hoist, dial indicator, shims, parallel blocks, or clamps. Selects and installs cutting tools in machines. Sets controls and gears to facilitate indexing of work piece, cutting speed and depth of cut according to type of materials. Maintain 5S principals within the machine shop to ensure a safe, organized, and efficient environment. Follow safety best practices while working in the machine. Visit ListedBuy for more information.
