Long Haul Truck Driver Fraser Valley Transport Ltd Job details• Location : Surrey, BC• Salary : $27.50 / hour, Overtime : $41.25 per hour• Vacancies : 5 vacancies• Employment groups : Youth, Visible minorities, Indigenous people, Newcomers to Canada• Terms of employment : Permanent employment, Full time40 to 60 hours / week• Start date : As soon as possible• Employment conditions : Morning, Day, Evening Job requirements Languages : English Education : No degree, certificate or diploma Experience : Will Train Transportation/Travel Information : Valid driver's licence, Willing to travel for extended periods, Willing to travel cross-border Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities : Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Sitting, Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads Personal Suitability : Effective interpersonal skills, Flexibility, Organized, Reliability, Judgement, Team player Specific Skills : Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Load and unload goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, Perform brake adjustments, Perform emergency roadside repairs, Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption Type of Trucking and Equipment : Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles) Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc. ) : Driver's License (Class 1 or A)Personal Suitability : Flexibility, Organized, Judgement, Team player, Reliability Only apply to this job if: • You are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada. • You have a valid Canadian work permit.
