Job Title: Veterinary Technician (NOC 3213)Company Name: ATLAS Animal Hospital – North Vancouver Company Address: 1-908 W 16th Street North Vancouver, BC V7P 1R3 Wage Rate: $25.50/hr Over Time Wage Rate: $38.25 /hr Number of Vacancies: 2 Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible Terms of Employment: Full-Time Permanent position Education & Requirements: - Completion of 2-3 years college program in animal health/veterinary technology is required; And- Registration with ‘Provincial animal health technologists' or veterinary technicians' associations is Assets. - Related work experience is an asset Languages: English Job Duties: • Perform laboratory tests to assist in diagnosis of animal health problems • Able to provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals• Assist veterinarian with animals before, during and following surgery by preparing surgical equipment, administering and by cleaning up after surgery• Educate and advise clients on animal health care including nutrition and home care• Produce radiographs and collect samples as required. • Prepare medications and vaccines under direction of a veterinarian• Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry• Provide bandage care and may require hoof trimming for animals.
