Closing Date: August 28, 2023 Reporting to the Manager, Lands and Conservation, the Senior Lead, Lands and Conservation is responsible for managing and optimizing the value and contribution of Teck Coals non-mining private lands, primarily in the Elk Valley, in alignment with the internal strategy for the lands. This includes supporting the development and delivery of biodiversity offsets, including the design of integrated landscape action plans to support our commitment to be Nature Positive by 2030. This is a full time, permanent position. To be successful, we are looking for someone with strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills who can lead, and direct the lands and conservation program and related projects. This individual will have strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities with a proven capacity for practical problem-solving. Someone who will remain safe, positive and motivated while working independently and in remote locations is vital. This is an opportunity to collaborate with a variety of departments, external stakeholders and First Nations and apply your skills across multiple operations and across the region. You will have the opportunity to plan and implement various aspects of the Lands and Conservation program. You will be involved in the execution of the Joint Management Agreement and will be a Teck representative on the Joint Management Committee. This role is essential for the execution of a sustainable development strategy as it relates to optimizing the value of the Teck Coal private lands and a more regional landscape conservation plan.
