We are looking for experienced Machinists to join our team. For more information and to understand about our company, please visit www. westerndrilling. ca/ Job requirements and qualifications: • Completion of secondary school is required• Completion of an apprenticeship program or a combination of equivalent experiences and industry courses • Team player - positive, reliable and motivated • Be physically capable of performing the required duties and work flexible hours by shift• Strong organizational skills and effective oral skills Major job duties include: • Set up, program, operate, and maintain a computer numerically controlled machine, manual lathe and a variety of machine tools, including tools to perform precision, repetitive and non-repetitive machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling and other operations• clean and maintain a machine, change coolant and fluid, replace tools and inserts• read and interpret engineering drawings and analyze parts to determine the machining operation to be performed, and plan the best sequence of production• verify dimensions of machined parts and products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, verniers, calipers, height and fixed gauges• maintain, repair, and coordinate calibration of precision measuring instruments and power tools• report deviations from specifications and tolerances to the shop manager, complete and maintain inspection report• build familiarity with exotic and composite materials and corresponding adjustments to the machining operation• examine material to.
