Position Summary An exciting opportunity exists in our Metals Division in Fort Saskatchewan for an Engineer, Process Safety. The purpose of this position is to provide process safety expertise and coordination to drive the execution, follow-up, maintenance, and enhancement of the Fort Site Unit Operations’ Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) in support of Process Safety Management (PSM). This position is intended to support the Fort Site PSM strategy with a 12 month forward looking time frame. Accountabilities Participate in the development, implementation, and optimization of a Plant Engineering (PE) business plan, aligned with the Fort Site operational strategies. Participate and contribute to the continual improvement and application of PE standards and procedures. Ensure quality control and decision-making strategies are applied to PE projects, and request oversight when uncertainty exists. Provide process engineering services and advice related to the design and safe operation of process equipment in the Fort Site, including Technologies if required. Contribute and adhere to the PE program to ensure that policies, standards, practices, and procedures are compliant to current regulatory requirements, and are consistent with Sherritt’s objectives to deliver zero harm to employees,.
