Date Posted: 08/17/2023 Req ID: 33494 Faculty/Division: Uof T Mississauga Department: UTM: Hospitality and Ancillary Services Campus : University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) Description: Working largely independently as part of the senior departmental management team, and under the general direction of the Director, Operations and Administration, the incumbent is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Hospitality & Ancillary Services department’s retail units, including vending services, The Print Shop, and campus mail services. The incumbent also assists with the operation and administration of the campus’s liquor license, and the administration and enforcement of the leases with bookstore and the bank machines on campus. The incumbent provides support to the senior departmental management team for the long-term planning, by making recommendations and implementing strategic plans determined by senior management. The incumbent coordinates the implementation and on-going oversight of the department’s sustainability initiatives. This position will support the review of existing operations and creation of a business plan that aligns with the strategic principles of the University of Toronto Mississauga. The incumbent will also supervise the unit employees, and have managerial authority related to human resource management, assignment of work, as well as the hiring, performance management and professional development of all staff in this area. Minimum Qualifications I. EDUCATION: University degree, preferably in business or hospitality, or equivalent combination of education and experience. II. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 3-5 years’ management experience in the service industry, preferably in retail business sectors in operations management. Experience managing staff in a unionized environment and experience managing multiple operational units. Experience implementing change and leading continuous improvement initiatives. Experience.
