In 2005 Pelican Events and Catering entered a new era with Chef comear Muraleetharan taking on ownership; after working within the hospitality industry and his background with companies such as Hilton, Hyatt, and Starwood Hotels and Resorts, it was a natural transition and an exciting venture for Chef comear to undertake. Under Chef comear’s leadership, Pelican Events and Catering has been able to expand and continue to grow within the catering industry. Our staff takes pride in the service, quality of food, and attention to detail allowing the company to achieve the highest level of catering expected by their clients. Part of our passion is demonstrated in our in-house pastry shop where fresh cakes and desserts are made each day to serve during customers’ events, meetings, and special occasions. Pastries, cakes, and desserts are also available to buy without the need of booking an event or meeting. Job Responsibilities Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies Inspect kitchens and food service areas Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food Supervise kitchen staff and helpers Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment Clean kitchen and work areas Experience and specialization Cuisine specialties Italian cuisine East Indian International Additional information Work conditions and physical capabilities Attention to detail Fast-paced environment Physically demanding Repetitive tasks Standing for extended periods Work under pressure How to apply: send your.
