Job Description- Location: Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON Salary: $20.50 hourly for 35 hours per week Terms of employment: Permanent employment Full time Evening, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, On Call, Flexible Hours, Early Morning Start date: Starts as soon as possible Vacancies: 2 vacancies Verified Source: Job Bank #2221761 Overview-Languages: English Education: College/CEGEP or equivalent experience Experience:1 year to less than 2 years Work site environment: Fruit and vegetable combination farming Organic farming Other vegetables and melon farming (except potato) Responsibilities & Tasks: Clipping DE leafing Harvesting seedlings Lowering Mixing fertilizer Seed cutting Soil fertility programs Vegetable culling Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures Maintain financial and production records Negotiate with clients for provision of services Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting laborers Develop work schedules and establish procedures Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed Maintain quality control and production records Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations Maintain work records and logs Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment Perform general farm duties Supervision:11-15 people Experience and specialization-Type of crops: Greenhouse tomatoes Greenhouse vegetables Additional information-Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment Work under pressure Tight deadlines Physically demanding Attention to detail Large workload Overtime required Personal suitability: Organized Team player Employment groups-This employer promotes equal employment opportunities for all job applicants, including those self-identifying as a member of these groups: Indigenous people, Newcomers to Canada Who can apply to this job?
