SUMMARY: The position of Mold Maker/Assembler is responsible for assembling injection molds and hot runners in the plastics industry. The position involves assembling thin wall and closure molds as well as hot runners. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, including general assembly drawings to fully assemble plastic injection molds. Ability to interpret Hot Runner electrical drawings and wire accordingly. Ensure effective production of molds by utilizing tools such as micrometers, vernier calipers, dial test indicators, and height measuring equipment. Ability to troubleshoot issues with mold and mold components. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: TECHNICAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Presently enrolled in a Mold Maker apprenticeship or willing to start an apprenticeship. Experience assembling hot runners or injection molds is an asset. Exposure to machining components to tight tolerances. College certificate or diploma in related discipline is an asset.
