Closing Date: September 5, 2023 Teck’s water treatment technology represents some of the most advanced water treatment technology in the world. This position will be part of a team of hard-working professionals in a growing and technically exciting field working towards achieving the objectives of Teck’s Elk Valley Water Quality Plan! Reporting to the Senior Lead, Water Treatment, the Lead Environment, Water Treatment is responsible for providing leadership, technical direction, and decision-making support in the areas of environmental and regulatory risk management and mitigation. You will work along side a diverse and highly proficient team to manage environmental risks and satisfy regulatory requirements associated with emerging water treatment technologies , such as sulphate treatment and nickel treatment, through the research and development (R&D), trial and project phases. This position also supports calcite treatment projects and operations of current calcite treatment facilities. To be successful, we are looking for someone with strong interpersonal and communication skills, who can build positive relationships and demonstrate diligence, integrity, and environmental leadership. Critical attributes will be someone with attention to detail who can identify project related risks, provide technical direction and decision-making support, and work towards advancing them to resolution. An adaptable professional who can prioritize demands in a fast-paced environment, and has strong technical writing, presenting, data analysis, and reporting skills, will thrive. Most importantly, we require an individual with outstanding analytical and decision-making abilities, who can identify and understand regulatory and environmental risks and work towards developing practical solutions.
