Support worker (Outreach) Newcastle Permanent, Full time (37.5 hpw) Pay £10.90 per hour (£21,314 per year) and great benefits including Health Cash Plan Home, a place where you belong We have fabulous job opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We’re looking for a dedicated support worker to work in one of our Learning Disability services in Newcastle, who if you’re as energised as a new Duracell bunny with the alert skills of a meerkat, this is the job for you! We support our brilliant customers in this service who have a wide range of needs, including Learning disabilities, Autism spectrum disorder, Drug & Alcohol misuse, and Mental health. The customer group that we work with are quite independent with some attending college, working with many aspiring to. They all live in the community in their own homes. Some customers live in Home Group properties, so we help support them to manage their tenancies as well as supporting them with daily living skills, health appointments, correspondence, benefits, accessing the community, attending college, applying for jobs etc. For some customers they like to go to the theatre and have trips out and take you along with them! Here at Home Group, we look after vulnerable customers, but also those with complex needs. Your job will be to make sure our customers are safe and living their best life. Typical day as a support worker · You will meet customers either in the own home or out in the community to attend activities of their choice. This might be for shopping trips, attending a health appointments, going swimming or simply staying in doors to do some cooking and cleaning. · Thinking on your feet and manage situations on the spot. Such as raising the alarm when we need to engage professionals when reporting safeguarding risks and concerns. · You’ll oversee the health and safety of the properties you visit. · You will liaise with external agencies and professionals and may need to attend multi-disciplinary.
