Learn More About Our Company Job Purpose The Line Technician is responsible for the placement of aerial strand and all types of fiber cables. The line tech will place aerial strand and fiber by climbing poles, using ladders and operating a bucket or line truck. The tech will also be required to place buried cable and install cable through conduit and manholes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Perform all duties pertaining to telecommunication line placement and construction • Safely operate and maintain aerial bucket/line trucks, reel trailers, lashers and associated eqpt • Install hardware, strand, anchors, down guys, overhead guys, etc. • Install traditional fiber, flexnap fiber and coax cables from pole to pole, manholes, into buildings, etc. • Follow all safety requirements and actively promote safe practices within the crew • Perform construction duties while on a ladder • Climb poles at different heights in order to perform construction duties • Respond to corrective network problems, performing effective and efficient problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt repair of cable/hardware/equipment to ensure service restoral objectives are met • Accurately prepare and complete concise reports relating to repair data: network location(s), materials used, time, etc. • Read maps and procedures to complete daily work • Plan and.
