Standard General Inc. 250 Carleton Drive St. Albert, AB T8N 6W2 Summary The On-Road Heavy Equipment Technician is required to perform skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy trucks, as well as promote and participate in Goal Zero Initiative. The On-Road Heavy Equipment Technician will have the ability to troubleshoot major and minor mechanical problems, as well as have the ability to repair and adjust all necessary mechanical components. Duties/Tasks Positively participate in company safety program and adhere to all safety requirements. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot heavy trucks Able to perform complete repair and overhaul functions in a timely manner Test repaired equipment for proper performance Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts Diagnose any faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair that is required Maintenance, service and inspection of equipment to detect faults and malfunction In-depth knowledge of Trucks including air brake systems, ABS systems and DEF systems Maintain a safe and clean work environment Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances. Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting. Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required. Installation of new and added-on equipment. Repair cooling, and lubrication systems. Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work. Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation. Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques.
