Sous Chef Restaurant Kinka Izakaya Job details: Location: Montréal, QCSalary: $22.00 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week1 Vacancy Employment groups: Youth, Persons with disabilities, Indigenous people, Newcomers to Canada Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time Start date: As soon as possible Benefits: Bonus, Medical benefits, Dental benefits, Group insurance benefits, Life insurance benefits Employment conditions: Overtime, Day, Evening, Shift, Weekend, Night, Flexible hours Qualifications: - Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English or French is required- Completion of secondary (high) school is required- 3 years to less than 5 years of work experience as a cook or a chef in a restaurant is required Job duties: - Prepare and cook food on a regular basis; - Prepare, cook, and present hot and cold appetizers and dishes such as Japanese style salad, miso soup, and Tataki; - Prepare, cook, and present Japanese style deep fried dishes such as Crispy Gyoza, Tempura, and Karaage; - Prepare, cook, and present Japanese style Bentos; - Prepare, cook, and present Japanese style noodle dishes; - Prepare and present Sushi and other rice dishes; - Prepare Dashi (Japanese stock); - Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff; - Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food; - Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food; - Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff; - Plan menus, and requisition food and kitchen supplies; - Create new recipes; - Analyze operating costs and other data; - Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory Other information: - Ability to Supervise: 5-10 people; - Ranks of Chefs: Sous chef; - Cuisine Specialties: Japanese cuisine; - Food Specialties: Vegetables, fruits, nuts and mushrooms, Stocks, soups and sauces, Meat and poultry, Fish and seafood, Cold kitchen; - Work Setting: Restaurant; - Work Location Information: Urban area; - Transportation/Travel Information:.
