V1M 3E7 Rate: $27.00 hourly / 40 to 60 hours per Week Start date: Starts as soon as possible Vacancies: 3 vacancies Benefits: Health benefits, Financial benefits Permanent employment - Full time Day, Early Morning, Evening, Morning, Night, Overtime, Weekend Overview: Languages: English Education: No degree, certificate or diploma Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years Work setting: Remote location Responsibilities Tasks: -Mountain driving expertise-Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations-Load and unload goods-Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials-Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment-Perform brake adjustments-Perform emergency roadside repairs-Perform preventive maintenance-Receive and relay information to central dispatch-Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption-Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo Credentials Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : -Air Brakes Endorsement-Air Brake (Z) Endorsement-Driver's License (Class 1 or A) Experience and specialization Documentation knowledge: -Driver logbook-Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)-Maintenance and repair reports-Trip reports Type of trucking and equipment: Logging, highway Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul, Provincial/territorial, Regional Additional information Security and safety: -Driver's validity licence check-Driving record check (abstract) Transportation/travel information: -Valid driver's licence-Willing to travel for extended periods-Willing to travel overnight Work conditions and physical capabilities: -Large workload-Overtime required-Physically demanding Personal suitability: -Flexibility-Reliability-Team.
