Account Manager Location: Oldham Salary: Competitive Our client is one of the largest, longest established and most successful lighting companies in the UK, continue to go from strength to strength and are now looking to further add to their team with the appointment of a new Account Manager. The Role The successful candidate will work alongside their design and merchandising teams be responsible for the creation and sales of lighting products, designed in the UK and manufactured largely in the Far East. They are experts in indoor, outdoor, bathroom, kitchen, security, kids and task lighting, a knowledge of which would be useful : but not essential. Experience in selling to major retail would be an advantage and this role would also suit someone with experience working in a commercial role within retail. Your role would encompass the building and maintaining of key accounts with regular interface with buyers to ensure the highest levels of account management. You would be expected to seek out and communicate meaningful insights from the market and to provide direction to the design department on new product opportunities. You would on occasion be required to liaise and negotiate with their suppliers. The company work with some of the biggest and best retailers in the World, including B and Q, Next, Homebase, BHS, Debenhams, Toolstation, Screwfix, Argos, Costco, Bunnings, OBI, Tesco, Dunelm, Very and others. You would be working within their highly experienced product team here in Oldham, reporting directly to the Managing Director. Travel is an essential part of this role and you would on occasion be required to visit their customers both here in the UK and overseas. You would also be required to accompany buyers to visit their suppliers both in the UK and overseas and to attend international fairs and exhibitions.
