I broke my neck some years ago which left me paralysed. I live in Chelsea with my partner and our small dog, am very active and travel a lot, including international trips. This is a requirement of my Personal Assistants. The salary (from £ 260/day) is above the average as I am looking for an experienced, high-calibre, high-energy PA with knowledge and experience of manual transfers, bowel routine and in general, working with a spinal cord injury patient. When we travel it will be necessary to do manual transfers as we don’t have access to a hoist. I weigh around 65kg so to safely transfer me (your safety) you should ideally weigh more than 58 kg. Height 5’6” plus. My daily program is quite standard except that I exercise every morning and every night using electronic stimulation. The normal shift requirement is 2 weeks per month. I am looking for a PA who is a competent driver, speak fluent English, be good with children and be over the age of 28 and be able to do manual transfers (training provided). The IDEAL candidate will be mid 30's to her mid-'40s, have a happy/positive disposition, have high energy, and be well presented. My routine outline: I do 2 sessions of electrical stimulation exercise every day. My day starts between 6:30-7:30 am during the week and perhaps an hour later on the weekends. Starting with one hour of exercise before my bathroom routine in the morning. I like to be ready to start my day at 9:00 am. I usually go to bed around 9:30pm-10:00 pm and do another hour’s exercise before going to sleep. I am turned just once a night at around 2:30 pm. I have a housekeeper who comes in daily (except Sunday), so there is not a big emphasis on my PA doing extensive housework. I travel almost monthly to either South Africa, the USA or Portugal to visit my children. When I am not overseas with one of my children, or when they are not with me in London, then my PA will have ample time to rest during the day while the housekeeper.
