POSITION SUMMARY The Market Solutions Consultant will work in partnership with Market Solutions Team, Risk Advisors, and Client Service Teams on the marketing of new and renewal business and provide assistance with coverage questions with a focus on carrier relationships and client engagement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned. Design and negotiate insurance programs structure (coverage, limits, deductibles, retentions, classifications, exposures, etc.), and recommend program enhancements. Work in conjunction with the client service team in collecting information from prospects to implement insurance program accordingly. Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance company underwriters. Maintain professional relationships with both Standard and E&S marketplace at an underwriting level. Maintain working knowledge of carrier appetites, product availability, and market trends. Successfully identify appropriate carriers and negotiate program design and pricing of accounts for Commercial Accounts. Assemble, create, and modify submissions, as well as generate proposals. Perform online rating and/or quote retrieval and policy issuance. Maintain integrity of policy data and documentation in Agency Management Systems. Communicate outcomes of placement efforts to non-binding carriers. Provide coverage analysis on prospective clients' current insurance programs. Perform coverage audits and prepare coverage comparisons when moving carriers or replacing coverage. Comply with and follow company workflow procedures and guidelines. Provide outstanding customer service and teamwork and seek to improve whenever possible. Meet or exceed individual and department performance goals. Travel as needed (up to 33% of the time). SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not have supervisory responsibilities but is expected to mentor new team members and lower level positions. Promptly inform Supervisor/Manager of all matters that may give rise to an E&O claim. COMPENSATION INFORMATION At Flood and Peterson all full time employees are eligible for benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and paid Volunteer Time Off. Full time employees are also eligible to participate in our excellent 401k program, which includes both safe harbor and discretionary matching. We also offer several other voluntary insurance programs including expanded Life, Disability, Accident, Critical Illness/Event, and legal services. In addition to regular pay, this position is eligible to participate in our annual performance incentive program. Starting pay for exempt position is $70,000-$90,000/annually . Pay may exceed this range for well-qualified candidates, commensurate with experience. Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Work Experience Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; 5 or more years' experience in P&C insurance environment, with 3 or more years in insurance product development; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Mathematical Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills This position requires use of the following software or applications:Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Internet, Email, Database, Presentations and Marketing Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Possess and maintain a Colorado P&C license Possess and maintain designation of CIC or equivalent and willingness to pursue additional designations as needed (e.g. CPCU, CRM, ARM, AAI, etc.) Requires current Colorado driver's license and acceptable MVR Physical Demands Must be able to reach with hands and arms under 1/3 of the time Must be able to stand or walk 1/3 to 2/3 of the time Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk or hear, sit over 2/3 of the time Requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. less than 1/3 of the time Work environment while in the office is moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, moderate traffic)
