We are currently recruiting for a Ph D qualified Polymer / Materials Scientist to join a dynamic industry disrupter, involved in the development and delivery of high-performance composite polymer materials which reduce the use of traditional plastics. We are currently recruiting for a Ph D qualified Polymer / Materials Scientist to join a dynamic industry disrupter, involved in the development and delivery of high-performance composite polymer materials which reduce the use of plastics. Currently seeking to expand their Research & Development team we are looking to speak to Ph D qualified individuals looking to make a “real difference”. This position would be the ideal starting point for a Ph D Graduate looking for their first commercial role, and who are keen to apply their knowledge to the development of sustainable products. Unfortunately, my client is unable to offer Sponsorship for this position, so it is essential Candidates have the requirement to work in the UK without restriction or Visa requirements Key Responsibilities: Research and development of microplastic free & water dispersible polymers Research and development of dispersion techniques for graphene into polymers Performance optimisation of current biodegradable polymers and adhesives Design and validate new testing protocols for consumer packaging products Documentation and interpretation of experiments Project management, risk backssments and budgeting Maintenance and qualification of laboratory equipment Experience Requirements: Ph D qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Material Science or Nanomaterials Engineering ideally gained from Cambridge, Nottingham, Durham, Sheffield, Newcastle, Leeds or Loughborough University Excellent knowledge and understanding of polymer chemistry, nanomaterials or graphene infused materials development Previous commercial experience within an R&D Laboratory or materials development environment would be a distinct advantage Excellent.
