My client based in Esinteraction is looking for an experienced Band 7 Blood Sciences Biomedical Scientist for a locum contract, starting as soon as possible. Requirements: We require a state registered BMS with at least 3 years post registration specialist experience within the Haematology and BT department The candidate will be required to lone work, so previous experience covering BT and Haematology is essential They will be required to perform routine blood grouping using the analyser and manual techniques Issue blood products Perform / read Kleihauers Perform DATs and antibody panels x2013; with understanding of any product requirements which need to be considered Book in samples using the Winpath system for Haematology and BT Perform FBC and coagulation analysis in Haematology Examination of blood films Perform sickle screens and malarial parasites Phone abnormal results to requestor Manage all emergency work that arrives during the shift Load analysers and replenish reagents Run control material and trend Taking correct action in the event of control failure Liaise with clinical and lab staff in accordance with trust OAK values Atlantis Medical will take pride in representing you for this position, and we will treat you with the respect that you deserve.
