Practice Area: Family Law - General, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 1 Years, Job Overview: A law firm in Pensacola, FL, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their family law practice. The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctorate (JD) Degree and be an active member in good standing with the Florida Bar. They should demonstrate exceptional research and writing skills, as well as the ability to deliver hands-on client service with integrity and confidentiality.Duties:Perform a wide variety of functions to support the firm's practice including discovery, deposition, and mediation.Provide consistent legal guidance and support to clients.Interview all those involved in the case and research, identify and secure assets.Review and draft all court-required filings, pleadings, correspondence, and memorandums.Anticipate legal risks and ensure agreements are implemented.Coordinate with paralegals to ensure clients meet legal obligations.Research cases, interview witnesses, review evidence, and determine defense strategies.Adhere to a consistent schedule of hearings and case-related conferences.Litigate cases from inception through mediation and/or trial when necessary.Work with staff to compile comprehensive mediation and trial briefs.Negotiate on behalf of clients and stay apprised of court and statutory deadlines.Prepare for and conduct trials and draft final proceedings.Requirements:Juris Doctorate (JD) Degree.Active member and in good standing with the Florida Bar.High level of intuition, work ethic, and educational record.Mock Trial, Moot Court, Law Review, or Journal experience a plus.Understanding of Florida state and federal divorce and family laws.Exceptional research and writing skills.Ability to deliver hands-on client service and communicate effectively with clients.Understanding of negotiation and dispute resolution methods.Strong organizational and analytical skills.High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.Clear oral and written communication skills.Ability to understand complex legal documents/forms.Familiarity with Zoom and Video Conferencing.Benefits:Health, dental, and vision insurance with options to add spouse and dependents.Progressive Paid Time Off starting with one week per year and 9 paid Flex Holidays.401(k) with up to 4% company match.Parental, Personal, and Bereavement Leave.Additional time off for medical appointments, children's events, and mourning.
