Team Jtec is looking for a Painter with experience using basic spray gun coating techniques. Summary/Objective The Painter I operates the powder paint spray system to apply coatings to fabricated metal products as well as operate and maintain the polyurea application system. Duties and responsibilities Operate spray guns to paint or coat products according to internal specifications & job details. Measure and prepare chemicals, coatings, or paints per internal specifications and formulas. Follow Jtec Standard Work to operate machines and equipment safely. PM and cleaning on stage 0 to 5 tanks and wash bays. Breakdown and clean powder spray guns and equipment. Wipe and clean items and surfaces to be finished. Mask, plug critical features like machined holes or other specified features noted on prints or as directed by Lead or Supervisor. Manually or mechanically load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles. Maintain correct part line density and hanging standard as directed by Lead or Supervisor. Visually inspect parts are they are being hung and unhung for scratches and defects, notify Lead or Supervisor of issues. Maintain job data as product is hung within Powder Spreadsheet. Ensure proper counts and quantities for finished product as product is being packaged for transportation within Gardena or other Jtec facilities. Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information and make certain all internal loads have proper paperwork. Utilize the correct packaging dunnage or part protection to ensure product is not damaged due to contact with other parts or the containers. Other jobs and/or duties as directed by Lead, Coatings Supervisor or other Management. Qualifications Education/Experience High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) Knowledge Production and Processing - Knowledge of basic spray gun coating techniques and processes Skills Reading Comprehension Operation Monitoring - Watching indicators to make sure a machine is working properly Basic mechanical skills Abilities Arm-Hand Steadiness - the ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving or holding a position Near Vision - the ability to see details at close range Visual Color Determination - the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Selective Attention - The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted Other Attributes Dependability - Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations. Attention to Detail - Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks. Integrity - Job requires being honest and ethical. Physical requirements Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Must be able to lift and move 50 lb parts or fixtures. Must be able to stoop, bend, and reach overhead to assemble and/or move products. Must be able to work in safety sensitive role, fit for duty and free of any adverse effects of drugs or alcohol, including prescribed or over the counter drugs or other substances which may alter job performance during working times (e.g., drowsiness, impaired reflexes or reaction time, lack of concentration, etc.).
