Description:
Processes and dispatches Public Works service calls; responds to public inquiries and complaints; issues assigned City permits; and performs a variety of clerical duties in support of departmental operations. Examples of Duties: Provides customer service to the public in person and via telephone. Responds to public works related inquiries, complaints, and requests for service. Logs and processes maintenance requests pertaining to City water, sewers, streets, street lighting, traffic lights, parks, and recreation facilities. Prioritizes and dispatches calls for service to appropriate Public Works personnel. Assists contractors and City residents in locating utility lines and water/sewer mains. Issues waste hauler permits, right-of-way permits, and backflow tester registrations. Coordinates the issuance of fire hydrant meters to contractors working within City limits. Orders departmental materials including concrete, sand, flex base, and topsoil. Prepares, updates, and maintains work order, permitting, and other departmental records. Conducts general clerical duties including answering incoming calls and processing mail. Coordinates with other City departments regarding Public Work projects and activities.
