Job Description Abb Vie's Ophthalmology Discovery Research group is looking for a highly motivated and experienced ocular scientist with a multidisciplinary background in bioinformatics to play an integral role in target identification and early drug development of therapies for ophthalmic diseases. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of Ophthalmology Discovery Research in multi-omics data generation and integration to advance the understanding of disease pathology. The successful candidate will enable synergies between drug discovery and bioinformatics and support our research group as a liaison with bioinformatic partners at different Abb Vie locations. This position will be based in Irvine, California, and the candidate will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment to leverage cutting-edge multi-omics technology. The successful candidate will support research activities, applying cellular or molecular biology techniques, and lead projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders /experts. The candidate will be responsible for working with cross-functional teams to help integrate biological and computational approaches to facilitate preclinical experimental design in models and human donor samples, interrogate omics-datasets in coordination with bioinformaticians, coordinate research activities across multiple ocular indications, and formulate.
