The University of Toronto offers the largest training program in Internal Medicine in Canada (250 residents) alongside faculty members who are national and international leaders in education and research. Applicants must be eligible for a full-time clinical faculty appointment at the University of Toronto. Preference will be given to applicants at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The term of the Internal Medicine Program Director (PD) appointment is five years with the possibility of one renewal following a successful review. Effective start date is January 1, 2024, or an alternative date as mutually agreed on. Internal Medicine at the University of Toronto is a dynamic and vibrant program, central to the clinical care of complex patients at all of the major teaching hospitals affiliated with the University of Toronto. T he Internal Medicine Program is the largest program within the Department of Medicine; the program encompasses three years of foundational and core training allowing trainees to enter medicine subspecialty programs or to enter a fourth-year internal medicine residency program. The focus is on preparing residents for independent practice as an internal medicine specialist. The Internal Medicine PD is a leadership position, highly valued and pivotal to the overall success of the Department.
