HVAC Mechanic (Journeyperson or 4 th year Apprentice) Capital Projects Department Community Posting ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a 4 th year HVAC apprentice who is working towards their Journeyperson certification or an individual who has completed their HVAC Journeyperson certification. The HVAC Mechanic will be responsible for installing, operating, and repairing heating, air flow, and air conditioning systems. This is a full-time permanent position reporting directly to the Manager of Construction. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Aid with HVAC system installation in homes and offices. Install, service, and fix roof units for residential and business buildings’ heating and air conditioning systems. Use a range of hand tools and equipment for HVAC installation. Repair and replace air ducts. Pick up and provide tools, equipment, and supplies from the project site according to orders. Ensure that all tools, materials, and gear are in good operating order. Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and associated equipment. Ensure that all HVAC systems adhere to industry standards and regulations. Complete job specific reports and paperwork as needed. Have a strong attitude towards workplace health and safety. Ability to work at heights and in adverse weather conditions. Job tasks may be physically demanding lifting up to 50 lbs. Perform other duties as assigned. KEY REQUIREMENTS 4 th Year HVAC Apprentice or HVAC Journeyperson Certification is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills. S trong understanding of HVAC and plumbing codes Strong commitment to safety Experience working in an Indigenous community including knowledge of First Nations culture, traditions and values is considered an asset Valid class 5 Driver’s License & Clean Driver’s Abstract Required Clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector WHY APPLY?
